DIABASS 3.0 - The electronic DIABETES ASSISTANT

I. Installation

1. Please close all running applications and run from within
   Windows the file "setup.exe".

2. Select the desired language.

3. Specify, whether some common shared libraries shall be copied
   into \WINDOWS\SYSTEM (RECOMMENDED !) or into the installation
   directory.

4. Please select, which files you want to install.
   (TYPICAL=All Files)

5. Setup will now copy the required files.
   This may take some minutes.

6. Finally, you may specify the group where to install
   the symbols.

II. Possible Errors:

?  Message "Error while copying XXX"; Setup aborts.

!  Please close all other applications and/or restart Windows.
   

?  One ore more files could'nt be copied.
   Message: Can't copy XXX 

!  Probably the disk is damaged. 


?  Messages: "XXX out of date" , "Sub of Function not defined"
   DIABASS has only access to an older version of a required library.
   Probably has this file been overwritten by another application.
 
! 0. If possible, run diabass3.exe with parameter /CHECK.
      
  1. Copy all files with extension "*.vbx" and "*.dll"
     from \DIABASS into \WINDOWS\SYSTEM

  2. Check out, whether there is an older version of the file XXX
     in \WINDOWS; you may probably delete this file.

  3. If the error still occurs, you've to re-install DIABASS®.
     Please make sure, that you select
     <copy systemfiles into \WINDOWS\SYSTEM> 

  
?  The hot-spots in graph (day) don't work

!  Some graphic cards / drivers with a resolution of 256+ colors
   don't provide the automatical color detection.
   Try to set your driver on 256 colors.
   
   Probably you've selected mixed colors for display;
   try to select solid colors.

?  The meter, connetcted to COM:??, doesn't respond.

!  Please make sure, that no other programs access the
   selected COM-port; e.g. mouse- or fax-drivers.
   Please check both cabling and the batteries of your meter.
   The meter OneTouch® II must be setup to RS232, 9600 Baud

?  The driver for Accutrend® G and Reflolux® S causes
   problems (especially in WINDOWS 95).

! 1. QUIT Windows and go to DOS-Prompt.
  2. Plug your meter to the selected port and switch it on.
  3. Change into \diabass and type the following command:
     BMIMPORT.EXE <COM>
     where <COM> means the selected port (1,2,3  or 4)
  4. After a successful import, a file named 
     ACCUG.DAT  or REFLOLUX.DAT will be created.

  5. Restart Windows and DIABASS.
     You may now import the generated file via IMPORT (CAMIT).
